Hallo© > assignment > How to deliver Hallo© Assignment 2012 ‘Collaborative consumption’ is the new economic model. Initiatives for
sharing, swapping, bartering, trading, renting, donate are the order of the
day and the counterpart of ‘ownership’. Not only international and digital
(e-Bay, Marktplaats, Zopa Social lending, Couch surfing, Event ticket
sharing, Car Sharing), but also in your own neighbourhood, district and
village. In times of crisis, people are more creative. People will increasingly
provide their own life and see the opportunities close to home. The old
market behaviours are reinvented. In the city of Rotterdam, opposite ‘the
Rotterdam Roofpark’, the people of the opposing area cultivate their own
fruits and vegetables and benefit together from the proceeds. In Amsterdam
‘urban farmers’ are active on brown field sites. In some areas you can even
swap tools. Based on the idea that it is nonsense that every household has a
hammer drill. Also, clothing exchange and borrowing is becoming increasingly
popular. Besides saving money, there is another important advantage. The
communication between enhanced. This creates a pleasant living environment. Thus,
the loneliness of people is broken in natural way. Thus, we move from a ‘me’
society back to collective responsibility. ‘Everything is an opportunity’, as we say at Hallo©. We
believe in the possibilities of opportunity seeking. The above-mentioned,
opens up a great many opportunities. It is up to you to see and grab these
opportunities. The brief Immerse yourself in the life of city neighbourhood. Identify what one
is doing in various areas. Take an average intercultural street in an average
neighbourhood. Observe how people interact. Are the singles ignored? Are
laptop and flat screen the greatest friends? Is there much mutual irritation?
Do people feel imprisoned in their 65-m2 apartments? Describe it to yourself.
Read also ‘What’s Mine is Yours’ from the authors Rachel Botsman and Roo
Rogers. Use the information as inspiration. Think of a new initiative, a new
product or a new service, with the primary aim to get people out of their
isolation and continue to look beyond their own front door. Or create a
campaign to stimulate ‘sharing things’. Indicate the target/taste group. What
will you promise them? Describe your concept. Explain why it is a smart
concept. Give it a name. Consider a sender. Visualize your concept. How does
the communication look like? Take the chance. Be as original as possible. Think upside down.
Good luck! |
